What is the purpose of a servo press for motor rotor press fitting?

The servo press comprises a frame, headstock, worktable, push rod, pressure plate, servo motor, motor controller, reduction gearing, brake, position sensor, programmable controller, touchscreen, working mechanism, and auxiliary mechanisms.

I. Precise Control Functionality

As the press inherently possesses precise pressure and displacement control capabilities, no additional limiters are required on tooling. Processing different products merely necessitates selecting distinct press-fitting programmes, thereby facilitating versatile single-machine operation and flexible production line configuration.

II. Energy Efficiency

Compared to conventional hydraulic presses, servo presses achieve energy savings exceeding 80%. Driven by servo motors, the press operates solely on motor torque. Through hybrid force-amplifying mechanisms (e.g., lead screws, multi-link systems), small motors deliver substantial force. Without clutches, motor start/stop is controlled by the drive unit. Eliminating flywheels means motors rotate only during pressing, saving energy consumed by idle motor and flywheel rotation in conventional presses. The absence of clutches further reduces associated energy loss.

III. Retention of Press-Fit Data

The dynamic relationship between time, press-fit force, and displacement throughout the entire process is displayed in real-time as a curve graph on the HMI touchscreen. This data is stored with query, extraction, and printing capabilities for product analysis. The press-fit relationship curve graph enables precise determination of required pressure values at different product positions. The system stores over 200,000 production report entries. Data exports directly to host computers in Excel format for querying, or may be saved to USB flash drives via the USB interface. This ensures traceability of product processing data and facilitates production quality control management.

IV. Low Noise, Minimal Vibration, Extended Die Life

Utilising imported servo motors and CNC control systems with specially designed operating characteristic curves, the system regulates punch speed during punching operations. This significantly reduces punching vibration and noise, extending mould service life. Compared to conventional crank presses, the punching noise of servo motor-driven CNC presses is reduced by over 20dB. Furthermore, with no idling motors or flywheels, the press operates completely silently when not punching.
